Apply For A Scholarship

The Tel Moẓa Expedition Project is pleased to announce the following scholarships to fund student participation in the 2023 excavation season at Tel Moẓa.

 

Awards cover all excavation fees, in addition to room, board, and transportation during the excavation season. Airfare, insurance, and other personal costs are not included and are the responsibility of the recipient. Scholarship recipients are required to participate for the full excavation season from August 20th to September 8th, 2023. 

 

The Israel H. Steinberg Memorial Scholarship

In honor of Israel Steinberg – “His love of Torah inspires us.”

Requirements: Applicants must be students at an institution outside of Israel who are pursuing a degree at any level in a subject related to the research fields of the Tel Moẓa Expedition Project. Preference will be given to applicants who have not previously excavated in Israel.

 

The Yeshayahu Kisilevitz Memorial Scholarship
In honor of Yeshayahu Kisilevitz – “Our connection to the land is through working its soil.”

Requirements: Applicants must be students at an institution in Israel who are pursuing a graduate level degree in Archaeology (MA or PhD). Preference will be given to students in areas related to the research fields of the Tel Moẓa Expedition Project.

 

Instructions: Applicants must submit the application form, a copy of their CV, and a personal statement of up to 500 words by June 1, 2023. All documents must be submitted as a single PDF emailed to mozaexcavations@gmail.com. Recipients will be notified by June 15, 2023.

 

Within a month of the conclusion of the excavation season, scholarship recipients must submit a brief synopsis of their experience along with a photo to the Scholarship Committee. Additional information will be provided to scholarship recipients.
